TOURISM FOCUS – Driving Visitors to the Ugu Jazz Festival

by Phelisa Mangcu, 7 May 2019

Having just returned from the Tourism INDABA in Durban and having launched our flagship events to the travel trade there, it’s time to diarise the 29th of June for the Ugu Jazz Festival 2019.

The Ugu Jazz Festival draws thousands of music lovers to the KZN South Coast region to enjoy various genres of jazz music performed live by local and international artists.

Through leveraging these flagship events, Ugu South Coast Tourism is able to position the KZN South Coast as a major events destination, create exposure for the destination and is able to unlock, through its marketing support of the events, economic benefits for the region through tourism.

An outdoor event, staged at Ugu Sport & Leisure Centre in Gamalakhe, the Ugu Jazz Festival 2019 will this year be presented and organised by Eyadini Events, and expectations are high to produce a thrilling show. With an excellent line-up that features artists such as Lira, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Judith Sepuma, Mafikizolo and Thandiswa Mazwai, festivalgoers are in for a great experience.

Other artists that are sure to make the Ugu Jazz Festival a must-see include Sjava, Berita, Mahotella Queens, Zahara, Unathi Mbuso Khoza, Brenda Mtambo, Nduduzo Makhathini, Umkhumbane Malini, Lady Zamar, Shekhinah, Afro Soul, Mlindo, Naima K. Munto, DJ Siyanda, Mshedisi and Bongani Kwanyane.
